What is Document Tagging?
Document tagging in Docparser offers a streamlined way to enhance your document management system by allowing you to assign descriptive tags to each file. These tags serve as metadata that not only enrich the content but also make your documents significantly more searchable and organized. By incorporating tagging into your workflow, you can quickly locate and filter through vast collections of documents, ensuring that important information is always just a few clicks away. This article explores how document tagging in Docparser can transform your document processing experience, paving the way for improved efficiency and better data accessibility.
How does it work?
To apply tags to your documents, first navigate to the Documents page in your parser, then click the Tagging button on the far right – this will show a list of your current tags. From here you can also add your first (or additional) tags by clicking the "Add New Tag" button in the top right of the screen.
Once you add a new tag, a window will pop up requesting a name and notes to describe the tag. Save the tag to continue and navigate back to your documents list view.
From the list view, select any documents you wish to tag with the checkbox to the left of your document. Next, click the green "Perform Action" button and choose to "Assign and Manage Tags".
Now a list of available tags will be available to save to your document(s). As soon as this is saved, the tag will be applied to your selected documents, which will give you the option to search directly using this tag.
Additionally, tags can be created using the Tag preset in the parsing editor. These will, however, need to be applied manually.
