Import documents from an SFTP server
Connect Docparser to your SFTP server to automatically import documents from a remote folder into your parser.
Before you begin
You will need your SFTP hostname, username, authentication credentials, and the path to the folder containing the documents you want to import.
Enter your server details
Start by entering the connection details for your SFTP server. These details are normally provided by your SFTP administrator or hosting provider.
The hostname or IP address of your SFTP server.
The port used to connect to your SFTP server. Standard SFTP connections normally use port 22.
Choose the remote folder
Enter the folder on your SFTP server that contains the documents you want Docparser to import.
/invoices/You can choose whether this path starts from the SFTP user's home folder or from the root of the server.
SFTP home folder
Use this option for most SFTP accounts. Many SFTP users are restricted to their own home directory.
means the invoices folder inside the user's SFTP home folder.
Server root folder
Use this when your SFTP provider requires an absolute path beginning from the server's root directory.
Enter your username
Enter the username Docparser should use when connecting to your SFTP server.
Username
Choose an authentication method
Docparser supports both password and SSH private key authentication.
Password
Select Password and enter the password associated with your SFTP account.
Private key (SSH)
Select Private key (SSH) if your SFTP server uses key-based authentication.
Passphrase-protected private keys are also supported.
Save and test your connection
Once your connection details are complete, click Save and Test.
Docparser will attempt to connect to the SFTP server using the credentials and folder settings you provided.
Having trouble connecting?
Connection failed
Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the SFTP server accepts external connections.
Authentication failed
Verify your username and password or confirm that you are using the correct SSH private key.
Folder not found
Check the remote folder path and whether it should start from the SFTP home folder or server root.
Documents aren't importing
Confirm that the configured SFTP user has permission to access and read files from the selected folder.
